Wanda L. (Young) Burk

Mrs. Wanda L. (Young) Burk of Monticello, Kentucky passed away on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at Hospice of Lake Cumberland in Somerset, Kentucky, having attained the age of 84 years, and 25 days. She was born in Nancy, Kentucky on Saturday, May 10, 1941, the daughter of Alvie Gib & Tena (Roberts) Young. She was of the Baptist faith, and a loving homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Burk, son, Ronald Burk, son-in-law, Glenn Nutting, and brother, Darwin “Bud” Young.

She is survived by her daughter, Janet Nutting of Shepherdsville, Kentucky, special brothers-in-law, Shelby Burk of Monticello, Kentucky, Jerry (& Missy) Burk of Whitley City, Kentucky, sisters-in-law, Savannah (& Gary) Jones, Rosetta Worley, both of Monticello, Kentucky, Bertie McCutchen, Judy (& Jimmy) Young of Sidney, Ohio, and Dorothy (& Jim) Calhoun of Maplewood, Ohio.

The funeral service was conducted on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at 1:00 P.M. E.S.T. in the Memory Chapel of the New’s Monticello Funeral Home, with Jerry Burk officiating and reading of the obituary by Candace Baker. Burial was in the Burk’s Family Cemetery in Wayne County, Kentucky. Casket Bearers were Jerry Burk, Jack Burk, Shelby Gene Burk, Gary Jones, Tyler Walters, and Johnny Burk.

New’s Monticello Funeral Home in Monticello, Kentucky, was honored to be in charge of all the arrangements.
