Mrs. Sue Mae (Tucker) Thurman of the Frazer community of Wayne County, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, June 28, 2024, at her residence in Wayne County, having attained the age of 89 years, 8 months, and 13 days. She was born in the Delta community of Wayne County, Kentucky, on Monday, October 15, 1934, the daughter of Mosie & Millie (Hammond) Tucker. Sue was of the Baptist Faith, a member of Liberty Baptist Church, a member of the Eastern Star, and worked as a factory worker for General Electric for many years. In her free time, she enjoyed quilting, sewing, cooking, and spoiling her grandkids, and great grandkids. In addition to her Parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hoover Thurman, daughter, Sheila J. Thurman, siblings, Ruby Cassada, Author Tucker, Eugene Tucker, Chester Tucker, and Donald Tucker.
She is survived by her children, Dwight (& Jo Carol) Thurman, Dwaine (& Pam) Thurman, siblings, Lettie Canada, Betty Flynn, Wendell Tucker, Pauline Flynn, Glenn Tucker, Tommy Tucker, Cloa Hardy, grandchildren, John (& Stacey) Thurman, Emma (& Garrett) Sylvester, great-grandchildren, Alyssa Sylvester, Ethan Sylvester, Maverick Thurman, and Hunter Thurman, several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
The funeral service was conducted on, Monday, July 1, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. E.S.T. in the Memory Chapel of the New’s Monticello Funeral Home in Monticello, Kentucky with Bro. Adam Evans officiating. Burial was in the Bronston Cemetery in Pulaski County, Kentucky. Casket Bearers were Ron Tucker, Gene Gordon Tucker, Garrett Sylvester, Ethan Sylvester, John Thurman, and Matt Tucker. In lieu of flowers, donations appreciated to the Hospice of Lake Cumberland or the Bronston Cemetery.
New’s Monticello Funeral Home of Monticello, Kentucky, was honored to be in charge of the arrangements.
