SALLY BRUMMETT Obituary
Mrs. Sally Gay (Piercy) Brummett of Monticello, Kentucky passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at Wayne County Hospital in Monticello, Kentucky, having attained the age of 79 years, 6 months, and 7 days. She was born on Tuesday, November 5, 1946, in Wayne County, Kentucky, the daughter of Raymond Taft & Rosie Mae (Denney) Piercy. Sally was of the Baptist faith and worked at the Anchor Motel for many years. She loved fishing and spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Ray Brummett whom she wed on July 17, 1965; siblings, Billy, Willie, Milton, Jep, Johnny, Bobby, Jackie, and Betty.
She is survived by her daughters, Jimmie Gay Brummett and Rosa Ann Brummett both of Monticello, Kentucky, sister, Lilly Pearl Brown of Monticello, Kentucky, grandchildren, Amanda (& Loren) Eaton, Joe Shelton, Adam (& Tyra) Shelton, and Emily Decker, great-grandchildren, Audrey, Dylan, Archer, Nora, Orion, Caelum, and Duane.
The funeral service was conducted on Monday, May 18, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. EST in the Memory Chapel of New’s Monticello Funeral Home with Bro James Bunch officiating. Burial was in Taylor’s Grove Cemetery in Wayne County, Kentucky. Casket Bearers were, Adam Shelton, Tyra Shelton, Emily Decker, Joe Shelton, Amanda Eaton & Loren Eaton.
