Rickey Allen West

Mr. Rickey Allen West, of Eubank in Pulaski County Kentucky passed away Friday, December 26, 2025 at the U. K. Hospice Bluegrass Care Center in Lexington, Kentucky having attained the age of 62 years, 8 months & 10 days. He was born in Somerset (Pulaski County), Kentucky on Tuesday, April 16, 1963 the son of Howard L. & Mildred (Wesley) West. He was a Christian, and a member of The West Science Hill Baptist Church, a 1981 graduate of Pulaski County High School, worked at T T A I in production as a conveyance operator until his illness forced him to retire. He loved working and was dependable. He loved country life, fishing, riding horses and the side by side, loved old cars especially mustangs. He opened his home and heart to foster care and was a father figure to many. In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by his son; David Allen West, brother; Howard Lewis (& Verna Mae “Shorty”) West, Nieces, Christy M. Crockett, Dani West; Brother-in-law, Albert Roy; maternal grandparents, Elvin & Clara (Godby) Wesley; paternal grandparents, Cyrus & Sylvia (White) West, and father-in-law, Narval Leo James.

He leaves to cherish his memory, and mourn his passing, his beloved wife, Hazel Donette (James) West whom he wed on Saturday, August 23, 1986; Daughters, Whitney Lynn (& Wes) Tackett of Lexington, Harper Lynnae West of Eubank; Grandchildren, Elijah Wesley Tackett & Adalynn Christine Tackett; Sisters, Connie Mae Roy of Somerset, Clara Marie (Bro. Lester) Randolph of Science Hill; Mother-in-law, Margaret (Jasper) James of Shady Grove; Brother-in-law, Anthony Dwayne James of Shady Grove; sister-in-law, Dana Marie (& Darren) Hill of Somerset; Special nephew, Tim Roy; Nieces & Nephews, Cindy Roy, Rudy Randolph, Jerry Lynn Jasper, Adam West, Lukus Mofield, Justin Mofield & Emily Mofield; Several Great Nieces & Nephews; one Great Great Nephew; Best Friend, Carl Warren.  

The funeral service was conducted on Monday, December 29, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. E.S.T. in the Chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home, 5900 N. Highway 27, Science Hill, Kentucky 42553 with Bro. Lester Randolph & Bro. Norman Harper officiating & memories by his Nephew, Adam West. Burial was in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Science Hill. Casket bearers were Cody Warren, Austin Stigall, Lukus Mofield, Justin Mofield, Tim Roy, Rudy Randolph & Adam West. In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to the Mt. Zion Cemetery in his memory.
