Mr. Raymond Earl “Ray” Ritchie, Jr. of Cincinnati, Ohio passed away Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at the Hillebrand Nursing & Rehab Center in Cincinnati having attained the age of 75 years, 7 months & 8 days. He was born at the New family farm in his grandparents’ log home in the Wheeldon Community of Pulaski County, Kentucky on June 17,1946, the son of Raymond Earl Ritchie, Sr. & Loretta (New) Ritchie. He was raised in the Baptist Faith, an Army Veteran who served Stateside during the Vietnam War, graduated from Cumberland High School, Cumberland (Harlan County), Kentucky class of 1964, received his Bachelor’s Degree from University of Cincinnati, retired from Proctor & Gamble, and was a self-employed businessman owning Unique Campus Rentals and other real estate holdings. He loved Corvettes, boating, watersports & snow skiing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Robert Lee & Bertha (Burkhart) Ritchie, his maternal grandparents, Dellas Ewell & Sarah Ethel (Nevels) New.
He is survived by his wife, Joan Ruth (Dickmeyer) Ritchie whom he wed on January 9, 1971 at The Calvary Baptist Church in the same chapel in which he will lie in repose. He is also survived by his daughter, Rachel Grace (& K. C.) Kless of Cincinnati, his sister, Linda Joyce Ritchie of Science Hill, Kentucky, his half-sister, Carolyn Sue (Ritchie) Mullins of Hazard, Kentucky, and his grandchildren, Samuel Patrick Kless & Miranda Judith Kless.
The family will receive friends from noon until 2:00 p.m. E.S.T. on Saturday, January 29, 2022 in The Historic Chapel of Calvary Baptist Church, 3711 Tibbatts St., Covington, Kentucky 41015. There will also be a graveside service on Sunday, January 30, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. E.S.T. at the Science Hill Cemetery in Science Hill, Kentucky where he will be laid to rest.
