Pete Grayer

Mr. Pete Grayer, 85, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on October 18, 2024 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on December 15, 1938 in Zula, (Wayne County) Kentucky to Millard Grayer & Fannie (Lowe) Rednour. Pete served our country in The U.S. Navy, was a Union Carpenter, a Deputy Chief Constable for Perry Township, among many other things. He was a past owner/operator of a Texaco Gas Station. Pete was a faithful member of the Lighthouse of Mercy Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his siblings, Logan Howard, Bertha Overman, Robert Rednour, and George Grayer.

Pete is survived by wife of 62 years, Carolyn Sue Grayer; Children, Jean (husband, Phil) Suiters, Missy Grayer, & Graylann Grayer; seven grandchildren, Phillip Suiters, Matthew Suiters, Paul Suiters, Megan Roe, Casie Grayer, Emily Grayer, and Caleb Grayer; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service was conducted on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. E.S.T in The Memory Chapel of New’s Monticello Funeral Home in Monticello, Kentucky with Bro. Darrell Reagan officiating. Burial was in the Taylor’s Grove Cemetery in Wayne County, Kentucky with Military Honors provided by The Monticello D.A.V. chapter #105. Casket Bearers were Phill Suiters, Philip Suiters Jr., Matthew Suiters, Caleb Grayer, Paul Suiters, Don Shelton, Sam Shelton, Stephan Grayer.
