Paul Edward Cooper

Mr. Paul Edward Cooper of Duncan Valley Road in Monticello passed away Friday, November 15, 2024 having attained the age of 87 years, 10 months & 21 days. He was born on Saturday, December 26, 1936 in the Pisgah Community of Wayne County, Kentucky the son of Cecil & Alta (Smith) Cooper. He was a member of the Cooper Baptist Church, served in the Army National Guard for 17 years, was a farmer, and retired from Belden’s in Monticello. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Hershel Cooper & Danny Cooper.

He is survived by his wife, Josephene (Jones) Cooper whom he wed on Sunday, January 27, 1957, Children, Ross Cooper, Hazel (& Jeffery) Woods, Maerene (& Tim) Pyles, Scott (& Effie) Cooper all of Monticello, Grandchildren, Tiffany (& Chris) Bolen, Chandra (& Joe) Kempton, Kira Pyles, Kelci (& Jacob) Bridgeman, Maria (& Roger) Valdivia, Great-Grandchildren, Kenzie, Kayla, Kyra Jo, Kyli, Kadi, Eli, Laci & Amiya.

The funeral service was conducted on Friday, November 22, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. E.S.T. in the Memory Chapel of New’s Monticello Funeral home with Bro. Jeff Allen officiating. Burial was in The Elk Springs Cemetery in Monticello, Kentucky. Casket Bearers were Scott Cooper, Ross Cooper, Jacob Brideman, Tim Pyles, Joe Kempton and Chandra Kempton. In lieu of flowers, contributions appreciated to St. Judes Children’s Hospital.
