Mrs. Margie Lee (Daniels) Dukes of Monticello, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at the T.J. Samson Community Hospital, in Glasgow, Kentucky having attained the age of 81 years and 10 months. She was born in the Morris Hill community of Wayne County, Kentucky, on Wednesday January 28, 1942, the daughter of William “Bill” & Rachel (Watson) Daniels. She was of the Southern Baptist Faith and worked for Amusement Co. as a carnival worker. She enjoyed yard sales, reading, auctions and collecting many items. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Curtis Ada (Daniels) Wallace, Carlos “Bucky” Daniels, and Willis Daniels, nephew, Michael Davis, and nieces, Donna Daniels, and Nannie Crabtree.
She is survived by her sibling, Bronda Davis of Monticello, Kentucky, special niece, Rachel Davis, niece & nephew, Kathleen Daniels and William Wallace, great nieces & nephews, Shannon Brumley, Samantha Bridgeman, Melissa Welch, Christy Powell, Donnie Daniels II, light of her life, great nephew, Dakota “Cody” Kennedy, extended family in Georgia, and Horizon Village apartments neighbors.
The Funeral Service was conducted on Friday, December 1, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. in The Memory Chapel of New’s Monticello Funeral Home in Monticello, Kentucky, with Bro. Phillip Duncan officiating. Burial was in the New Sandusky Cemetery in Wayne County, Kentucky. Pallbearers were Hobert Powell, Trenton Godsey, Kevin Powell, Brandon Welch, Jeff Brumly, and Charles Bridgeman. In lieu of flowers, contributions appreciated to “The New Sandusky Chapel Cemetery Fund”.
