Linda Jane (McGinnis) Smith

Mrs. Linda Jane (McGinnis) Smith, of Monticello, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, August 06, 2022 at the Medical Center of Albany in Albany, Kentucky having attained the age of 85 years, 3 months and 16 days.  She was born in the Jimtown Community of Wayne County, Kentucky on Wednesday, April 21, 1937, the daughter of Willie and Edna (Lowe) McGinnis. She was a Christian, attended Parmleys Grove Baptist Church, and was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Smith whom she wed on, Saturday, July 21, 1956, son, Shelby Harold Smith, siblings, Ellie Dishman, Mattie Stinson, Nellie McGinnis, Ollie McGinnis, Olver McGinnis, Jesse McGinnis, Shelby McGinnis, and Shellie McGinnis.  

She is survived by her children, Nila West, Wendell Smith (& Jennifer Hunley) all of Monticello, Kentucky, grandchildren, Thomas Smith, Adam West, Joe West, Jenina West, great-grandchildren, Chloe Smith, Korbyn Smith, Anthony West, Arianna West, Walker West, Paisley Coffey, and Cambree Coffey, along with many other family members, and many many friends.

     The funeral service was conducted Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of New’s Monticello Funeral Home in Monticello, Kentucky with Bro. Rayburn Sweet. officiating. Casket bearers were Wendell Smith, Joe West, Thomas Smith, Guy Smith, David Smith, and Jenna West. Burial was in the Parmley’s Grove Cemetery in Wayne County, Kentucky.
