Mr. Kenneth J. Baker of Monticello, Kentucky passed away Sunday, July 18, 2021 at his residence, having attained the age of 78 years, 10 months, and 9 days. He was born in Wayne County, Kentucky on Wednesday, September 9, 1942, the son of Garland James & Mary (Hurt) Baker. He was of the Baptist faith, and a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. He was a welder for Monticello Machine Shop, worked for Gamble Brothers, Christians Saw Mill, Kenric Pipeline. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters, Dorothy Smith, Irene DeZarn, brother, Wilburn Don Baker, niece, Susan D. Smith, great-nephew, Ryan Cody Bell.
He is survived by his wife, Linda (Perkins) Baker whom he wed on Saturday, November 11, 1967, daughter, Sabra L. New, brother, Bill Baker, grandchildren, Sasha Foust, Matthew (& Kaila) New, great-grandchildren, Aubree Layne New, Landyn Ruben Kole New, and fur baby, Bella all of Monticello, Kentucky.
The funeral service was conducted Wednesday, July 21, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. in the Memory Chapel of New’s Monticello Funeral Home with Bro. Jackie Gibbons, and Bro. Matthew New officiating. Casket bearers were Sasha Foust, Junior Chriswell, Gary Baker, Simon Baker, Eddie Bell, Wyatt Bell, Parrish Baker. Special music was by Mitzi Smith. Burial was in the Elk Springs Cemetery in Monticello, Kentucky. New’s Monticello Funeral Home of Monticello, Kentucky was honored to be in charge of arrangements.
