John Richard Cook

Mr. John Richard Cook of Monticello, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at Oakview Nursing and Rehabilitation of Calvert City, Kentucky, having attained the age of 80 years, 7 months and 10 days. He was born on Tuesday, April 3, 1945, in Ashtabula, Ohio, the son of Barney & Marvel (Van Name) Cook. He was of the Protestant faith, proudly served in the Army National Guard and had a true passion for his job as a Certified Composite Technician.

He is survived by his wife, Catherine (Jennings) Cook of Monticello, Kentucky; children, David Cook of Cooperstown, Pennsylvania, Kim Keller Cook of Ashtabula, Ohio; grandchildren, Kayla Schneider, Kaitlin Johnston, Danielle Keller, Alex Keller; great-grandchildren, Peyton Johnston, Brantley Johnston, Elia Ivy Schneider, Ember Oakley Schneider, a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

 In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Alzheimer’s Research.
