Joel Hunter

Mr. Joel Dean Hunter of Monticello, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, September 28, 2025, at his residence in Monticello, Kentucky, having attained the age of 80 years, 2 months and 9 days. He was born on Thursday, July 19, 1945, in Wayne County, Kentucky, the son of Russell & Christine (Branham) Hunter. Joel proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam war, receiving a purple heart after being wounded in active combat.  He was of the Christian faith, and enjoyed time fishing around the lake. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Jacquline Branham, Sherry Kendrick, and granddaughter, Jessica Hunter.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra K. Hunter, children, Joey Hunter, Thomas Ray Hunter, siblings, Leroy Hunter, Gary Hunter, and Ed Hunter, grandchildren, Jordan Hunter, Jordon Hunter, great-grandchildren, Jayla Hunter, Lakasia Hunter, Zari Hunter, Kayden Hunter, several nieces, nephews, friends, and many other relatives.
