Obituary
Mrs. Gladys Faye Barnes, of Burkesville, Kentucky passed away Saturday, January 15, 2022 at the Cumberland County Hospital in Burkesville, Kentucky having attained the age of 68 years,11 months and 23 days. She was born in Albany, Kentucky on Friday, January 23, 1953, the daughter of Edward Eugene and Flonnie (Johnson) Stearns. She was a sewing factory worker for numerous places such as Suttons Shirt Corp. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, R.J. Barnes Sr., sons, Douglas Edward Barnes, Terry Wayne Barnes, grandchildren, Amber Faith, Blake Barnes, siblings, J.F. Stearns, Mary Eva Kent, Rita Stearns, Edward Stearns, Floyd Stearns.
She is survived by her sons, R.J. JR. (& Patricia) Barnes of Monroe, Tennessee, Bobby Joe (& Lena) Barnes of Monticello, Kentucky, James (& Tina) Barnes of Monticello, Kentucky, siblings, Ruth (& Mark) Lee of Albany, Kentucky, Becky (& Barry) Ledbetter of Livingston, Tennessee, Carrie Jean (& Lyle) Smith of Indiana, Danny Joe Stearns, grandchildren, Toshia Brooke Barnes, R.J. Johnny Barnes, Kim Nichole Barnes, Megan Kennedy, David Wallace, Thomas Wallace, Zachary Wallace, James Barnes, Johnny Barnes, Latisha Barnes, Douglas Rains, Moses Rains, Sarah Rains, Tyler Phillips, Austin Neace, Courtney Barnes, along with 18 great-grandchildren.
The Funeral Service for Mrs. Gladys Faye Barnes will be conducted on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. in The Memory Chapel of New’s Monticello Funeral Home in Monticello, Kentucky with Bro. Moses Rains officiating. The family receive friends on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, after 11:00 a.m. till the funeral hour at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations are request to help pay final expenses and may be left at the funeral home.
