Donnie Shelton

Mr. Donnie Gene Shelton of Monticello, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at his residence in the Parnell Community of Wayne County, Kentucky, having attained the age of 72 years, 10 months and 29 days. He was born on Wednesday, November 05, 1952, in Burnside, Kentucky, the son of Edgle & Ima Jean (New) Shelton. Donnie proudly served his country in the United States Navy and was a devoted member of the American Veterans Association. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, and had a true passion for working with his hands. He spent his free time outdoors, and found joy working on any old car. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dianne Scott (Delaney) Shelton, whom he wed on June 10, 1972.

He is survived by his children, Jason Shelton, Darvin Shelton (& Kelly Thigpen), Kathi Shelton (& Lonnie Cooper), siblings, Larry Crouch, Kathy Crouch, and Wayne (& Dawn) Shelton, grandchildren, Marcus DelCastillo, Tyler Davis, Luke Shelton, Chantz Kaczenski, Bryson Shelton, Zamiya Thigpen, great-grandchildren, Dreka Davis, and Raven Davis.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 10, 2025, beginning at 2:00 p.m. in the American Veterans Association Post 125, 444 Enterprise Dr, Somerset, KY 42501.
