Mr. Wilburn "Don" Baker, of Monticello, Kentucky passed away Saturday, March 6, 2021, at his residence in Monticello, Kentucky, having attained the age of 86 years, 6 months, and 30 days. He was born on Tuesday, August 7, 1934 the son of James Garland & Mary (Hurt) Baker. He was of the Baptist faith, a member of the First Baptist Church in Monticello, Kentucky, was in the U.S. Army, and a District Manager with Shelby Petroleum Co. in LaFollette, Tennessee, and a member of Masonic Lodge # 431 F.&A.M.. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Dorothy Smith, and Irene DeZarn.
He is survived by his wife, Geneva (Coffey) Baker whom he wed on Friday, December 19, 1958, son, Gary L. (&Tammy) Baker, grandson, Simon Garrison Baker, brothers, Bill Baker, Kenneth (& Linda) Baker all of Monticello, Kentucky.
The funeral service was conducted Monday, March 8, 2021, at 12:00 noon at The Monticello First Baptist Church with Bro. Mark Helton officiating. Casket bearers were Matthew New, DeShane Stockton, Michael Morrow, Darrell Coffey, Parrish Baker, Anthony Coffey. Burial was in the Elk Springs Cemetery in Monticello, Kentucky. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to The Monticello First Baptist Church, or the Alzheimer's Association. Campbell-New Funeral Home of Albany, Kentucky was honored to be in charge of arrangements.
