Mr. Darrell W. Rose of Monticello, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2025, having attained the age of 67 years, 6 months, and 30 days. He was born on Monday, June 24, 1957, in the Jonesville community of Wayne County, Kentucky, the son of Roscoe & Luvernia Etna (New) Rose. He was of the Baptist Faith, a member of Zion Baptist Church, and worked for Prathers as a welder for many years. In his free time, Darrell loved riding his Harley Motorcycle and took great joy in picking on his family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jason Rose.
He is survived by his children, Misty (& Terry) Grundy of Stearns, Kentucky, Iran Rose of Monticello, Kentucky, Phillip (& Sherry) Rose of Winfield, Tennessee, Brandi Rose-Cooksey of Monticello, Kentucky, siblings, Jimmy (& Glenda) Rose, James Edward (& Wilma) Rose, Willis Dean (& Marlene) Rose, Katherine (& Lonzo) Tucker, Norma Abbott (& Donnie Comwell), Delmas (& Lori) Rose, Richard (& Donna) Rose, Erwin (& Lois) Rose, Shirley (& Roger) Phillips, Karen (& Jesse) Morrow, all of Monticello, Kentucky, grandchildren, Simera, Coty, Liane, Gabe, Karrie, Terri, Sherry, Hagan, Shady, Colton, Cadyn, Riley, Jace, Travis, Austin, Malachi, Ava, several great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, family & friends.
The funeral service was conducted on Monday, January 27, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. E.S.T. in the Memory Chapel of New’s Monticello Funeral Home with Bro. Lonzo Tucker Jr. & Bro. Denzil Jones officiating. Burial was in the Kidd-Rose Cemetery in Wayne County, Kentucky. Casket Bearers were Hogan Rose, Austin Rose, Malachi Cooksey, Coty Oliver, and Stevie Rose, Wesley Morrow, and Lucas Morrow.
