Mr. Christian Ira Vanover of Monticello, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky, having attained the age of 26 years, 1 month, and 25 days. He was born on Monday, January 3, 2000, in Campbellsville, Kentucky, the son of Carlis & Shelia (Clark) Vanover. He was of the Christian faith, attended Jesus Christ Chapel Worldwide Ministries, and worked as a food processor at Tyson Foods in Albany, Kentucky. In his free time, he enjoyed riding motorcycles, playing basketball—especially cheering on the Kentucky Wildcats—fishing, dancing, and singing karaoke. He will be remembered for the joy he found in these simple pleasures and the time he spent with those around him. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ancil & Hasse Clark, nieces, Averi Kirtley, and Andi Kirtley.
He is survived by his parents, Carlis & Shelia (Clark) Vanover; children, Alaiya Vanover, Zayven Vanover; siblings, Jesse Kirtley, Christina Vanover, and Amber Van Harrison (& Zachary Sneed); nieces & nephews, Jesse Kirtley, Otis Kirtley, Juan Perez, Dominic Perez, Victorya Perez, and Vivian Sneed.
The funeral service was conducted on Friday, March 6, 2026, at 12:00 pm E.S.T. in the Memory Chapel of New’s Monticello Funeral Home, with Bishop Cornelius Duncan, and Bro. Mondell Hunter officiating. Burial was in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery in Glasgow, Kentucky. Casket Bearers were Isaac Spradlin, Carlos Perez, Seth Carter, Bradley Smith, Zachary Sneed, and Bruce “Gage” Bowen.
