Charity Polly (Godsey) Kidd

Mrs. Charity Polly (Godsey) Kidd of Somerset, Kentucky passed away Friday, June 30, 2023 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, Kentucky having attained the age of 76 years, 5 months and 7 days. She was born in the Delta Community of Wayne County, Kentucky on Thursday, January 23, 1947, the daughter of Robert Arnold & Ollie (Phillips) Godsey. She was a homemaker, she was of the Baptist faith, and she attended Zion Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Daniel Kidd whom she wed on Saturday July 6, 1973, sister, Geneva Godsey, great-grandchild, Miracle Ann Duke.

     She is survived by her children, Thomas Kidd of Somerset, Kentucky, Shirley ( & Michael) Coffey of Burnside, Kentucky, siblings, Rosie Neeley, Zella Morrow, of Monticello, Kentucky,  Allie Meadows of Bronston, Kentucky, Helen Hicks of Eubank, Kentucky, Jimmy Godsey, Ella Thompson, Willie Godsey all of Monticello, Kentucky, grandchildren, Rebecca Sedlacek, Faith Sedlacek, Charlie Kidd, Hannah Sedlacek, Steffany Kidd, Great-Grandchildren, Aviana Young, Lincoln Ford, Jiraiya Ford.

The Funeral Service was conducted on Thursday, July 6, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. in The Memory Chapel of New’s Monticello Funeral Home in Monticello, Kentucky, with a cremation following. Casket bearers were Michael Pruitt, Charlie Kidd, Ross Thompson, and Carlis Thompson. The family received friends after 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.  New’s Monticello Funeral Home was honored to be in charge of the arrangements.
