Carolyn Ann (Allen) Godsey

Mrs. Carolyn Ann (Allen) Godsey, of Monticello, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at Jean Waddle Care Center in Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, Kentucky, having attained the age of 72 years, 9 months. She was born on Thursday, October 28, 1948 in Bedford, Indiana, the daughter of Herbert H. & Mary Louise (Speer) Allen East. She was of the Baptist Faith, a member of Zion Baptist Church, assembly worker for G.E. in Indiana, worked for Gamble Brothers, and was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wilburn Godsey whom she wed on Saturday, July 1, 1967, brother, Brian Allen.
She is survived by her children, David Godsey of Monticello, Kentucky, Windell (& Lori) Godsey of Calhoun, Georgia, siblings, Mike (& Carol) Allen of Mims Florida, Mark Allen, Kevin Allen, Jeff Allen, Brad Allen all of Indiana, granddaughter, Chasidy, grandson, Casey, great-grandchildren, Brayden, Jaxon, Isaac.

The funeral service was conducted on Sunday, August 1, 2021, at 2:00 pm in The Memory Chapel of New’s Monticello Funeral Home with Bro. Eric Criswell, and Bro. Larry Foster officiating. Casket bearers were Brian Jones, Richie Jones, Brad Allen, Shawn Galloway, Michael New, Kenneth New, Philip New. Burial was in the Elk Springs Cemetery in Monticello, Kentucky. New’s Monticello Funeral Home of Monticello, Kentucky was honored to be in charge of arrangements.
