Carl E. Thompson

Mr. Carl Eugene Thompson of Monticello, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at the Lake Cumberland Hospital in Somerset, Kentucky, having attained the age of 74 years, 8 months and 30 days. He was born in Somerset (Pulaski County), Kentucky, on Monday, February 19, 1951, the son of Noel I. & Edna Pearl (Simpson) Thompson. Carl was of the Baptist faith and a devoted member of Fall Creek United Baptist Church. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, carrying the values of duty and dedication throughout his life. He later worked as an engineer for the Kentucky State Road Department, where he took great pride in the work. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, spending quiet mornings hunting, fishing on the lake, and sharing stories and laughter with his many buddies. He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his son, Christopher Thompson; grandchildren, Aaliyah Thompson, and Christiana Thompson, all of Monticello, Kentucky.

The funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. E.S.T. in the Memory Chapel of New’s Monticello Funeral Home with Bro. Rayburn Sweet officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, beginning at 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.; and again on Thursday morning beginning at 7:00 a.m. until the funeral hour. Burial will be in the Elk Springs Cemetery in Monticello, Kentucky with Military Honors provided by the DAV Chapter #105.
