Mrs. Barbara Faye (Dodson) Shedd of Monticello, Kentucky passed away on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at the Jean Waddle Care Center of Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, Kentucky, having attained the age of 84 years, and 22 days. She was born on Friday, May 15, 1942, in the Delta community of Wayne County, Kentucky, the daughter of Jesse & Dora (New) Dodson. She was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Steubenville Baptist Church. Barbara worked as a laboratory technician at Huntsville Hospital in Huntsville, Alabama. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, traveling, and caring for her cats. One of her greatest joys was traveling to Israel. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Ray Shedd, whom she wed on November 12, 1965; son, Jesse Hugh Shedd; and sister, Rose Mary Louise Phillips.

She is survived by her siblings, Wanda Dodson, Norma Ann Turner, and Charles Howard (& Linda) Dodson, all of Monticello, Kentucky; along with several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service was conducted on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. EST in the Memory Chapel of New’s Monticello Funeral Home with Joshua Steele officiating. Burial was in the Elk Spring Cemetery in Monticello, Kentucky. Casket Bearers were Ray Turner, Bobbi Turner, Lori Turner, Dylan Turner, Joshua Steele, Chris Dobbs and Menvil Dishman.
