Mrs. Alice (Weaver) Abner of Monticello, passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at the Jean Waddle Care Center, Hospice of Lake Cumberland in Somerset, Kentucky having attained the age of 84 years, 2 months and 13 days. She was born on Friday, May 16, 1941 in Pulaski County, Kentucky the daughter of William & Mary (Ramsey) Weaver. She was of the Methodist Faith, member of Simpson Memorial Methodist Church in Bronston, she achieved her Rank I in education at Eastern Kentucky University, a retired teacher having taught first grade in Pulaski County School System. She enjoyed bird watching, gardening and serving in church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Weaver, first husband, James McLean, Grandson, Terry Ray Burton.
She is survived by her husband, William Abner whom she wed April 17, 1976, children, Linda Bastin of Somerset, Susan McLean Risemberg (Erik) of Lexington, Stephen McLean (Mary) of Monticello, Lavenna Robertson (Mitch) of Somerset, brother, Adrian Weaver (June) of Monticello, sister-in-law, Elizabeth Ann Weaver of Somerset, Grandchildren, Ashley Blevins (Clint), Brittney Parks (C.J.), Bradley Bastin, Ellen Risemberg, Annie Risemberg, Hank Risemberg, Biff Risemberg, Dusty Risemberg, Tristan McLean (Cody Kellam), Cody Landon McLean, Gerri Burton (Gerald), Great-Grandchildren, Emily Pointer (Brad), Olivia Mize, Noah Mize, Connor Blevins, Wyatt Blevins, Wayde Blevins, Madison Dick, Maci Dick, Aubree Bastin, Camdeyn Bastin & Cain Bastin.
The funeral service was conducted on Friday, August 1, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. E.S.T. in the Memory Chapel of New’s Monticello Funeral Home in Monticello, Kentucky with Bro. Bobby Sexton officiating. Burial was in the Elk Springs Cemetery in Monticello, Kentucky. Casket Bearers were Mark Weaver, Rodney Weaver, Nelson Weaver, A.B. Weaver, Scott Weaver & Cody Kellam. In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to The Hospice of Lake Cumberland in her memory.
